Welcome to Troop 1029

For many years, the Scouting program has helped create generations of leaders and outstanding citizens by allowing Scouts to explore their interests, serve their communities, and discover their talents through youth-led activities. Activities such as hiking, camping, and volunteering builds leadership and life-long friendship amoungst the scouts.

Advancement is our primary method of promoting and encouraging ongoing involvement and commitment to keep our youths engaged in the adventure! Scouts progress from rank to rank as they work on their advancements towards Eagle.

Troop 1029 aims to teach our Scouts:

  • Character development:
    • Learn skills that make them more self-reliant
    • Explore challenges they thought were beyond their capability
    • Learn leadership – take on leadership roles that teach them how to guide others
    • Learn about working together in various situations (e.g.: difficult trails)
  • Citizenship training:
    • Communication
    • Teamwork
    • Achieve goals together
    • Asset to their community
  • Leadership:
    • They plan & carry-out activities
    • Work together from start to finish
    • Support each other along the way
    • Share their skills
    • Learn by doing
    • Learn to do on their own
  • Mental & physical fitness:
    • Challenge themselves in outdoor adventures
    • Supported by their fellow Scouts, they push physically & mentally to accomplish tasks
    • Build life-long friendships

Scouting America's Mission

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
